So, as mentioned in my one (!) October post, I managed to enter a short screenplay contest with two different scripts. The first centered on a missing person in haunted house attraction and contains lots of my own experiences visiting these kinds of places. Its a solid script tied very tightly to Halloween and I might give it a go next year with the goal of hitting an October deadline.
The second script, titled "Hail to Thee, Ralph King", has some horror elements but is not tied to the spooky season. Logline: "When the founder of a small company dies, a young accountant's first day on the job goes off the rails in a big way".
This script was well received (3 out of 6 first place votes...blows own horn) and feels like a really solid project to move forward with. Currently creating the characters and sets, brainstorming the scenes and thinking about the voice actors. Its way too early to say but I'll say it anyway...feels like a potential January - March deadline.
More news as it happens!
